Thank God reading someone *actually* paying attention to skill, not just knowledge.

I do this all the time, with every craft I practice. I pay attention to each particular element inside the craft and evaluate my level of skill in that element specifically. Playing the piano, for example, it's not just moving fingers. I can isolate relaxation, memory, practice methods, speed execution, and so on.

Usually, my level of enjoyment and flow falls to the weakest link in the chain, which is why it's so important to refine them all.
