Matthew, mate, you give me confirmation that I was not the only bonehead thinking this analogy makes total sense.
I mean, the more you explore it, the more is the gravitational force (ha-ha) pulling you to find more connections.
For starters: we're talking about the "Laws of Movement." "Movement," coming from the Latin "movere," also the ancestor of the word "motivation."
Motivation is movement. Movement is caused by forces. We humans have those too: feelings, behaviors, thoughts. A 'thought' can be a weak force, like an opinion, or a strong one, like a belief or moral value.
Forces interact with each other, often in a conflicting manner, and the object (that is, us) moves in the direction of the net force. Maybe a somewhat convoluted way of understanding why we resist a snack when one is on a diet: conflicting forces that resolve in a movement toward whatever direction was stronger.
But oh, once you grasp it, our movement (or motivation) becomes a topic so intuitive and elegant.
Anyway, I could keep going on. It's being the hottest daydream topic during my showers and errands for a long while now.
Keep exploring mate, cheers.
