I'd like to believe that if we cultivate enough writing karma we'll get to Writing Heaven, where there's no such thing as writer's block, every sentence perfectly falls in place, and first drafts come out publishable without any edits.

But then I get real and think, "C'mon, what are the actual odds of writing a perfect first draft?"
