I think I know why we're all pathologically terrified of making a ruckus: our mums would cross our faces with a flip-flop until we were properly slapped back to decency.
Not to blame mums for our lack of initiative. They probably did right, as the status quo is the place where they took us, children, to be fed every day.
Anyway, ruckuses are scary, but if you think that every life inexorably ends up in death, everything is. And now I have my own pair of sandals, so my dear mother better think twice before she makes a move.
