You know, I wrote this article specifically to capture that feeling of anxiety/fear that comes with being just one among many.
But factually speaking, since creators are consumers too, there are more consumers than ever before.
I think what can be scary about this is how the communication dynamics are shifting.
Imagine the pre-internet, pre-democratization era: few could afford to be a creator, so it was a one-sided relationship. From the artist to the public.
Now everyone has access to the paper, so things look less like a stage (with someone on it) and more like a conversation between equals.
We can speak our opinions, but a conversation only thrives if we listen (or read) other people's.
