Holy mother of fuck the thing you just reminded me of.
The book—don't even bother; it was Jim Rohn's "7 Strategies for Wealth & Happiness," which now feels antiquated, if a bit cringy. But it was my first, so every page was groundbreaking, cutting-edge content. I think of it more of as a catalyst for the 200+ books that came after, a futile attempt to answer all the questions that it raised.
I remember finishing it the day after my birthday, taking a piece of paper, and implementing that unprecedented concept of "writing down your goals."
With one of them, I recall vividly, I let myself dream big—it was the "10-year goal" after all. Who knew where I would be in *ten years*. So I wrote, "Buy a grand piano and put it right in the middle of my living room."
Dude, that was back in 2010, and my birthday is November 12th. That means I have *eight days* to buy a grand fucking piano. And a whole house with a bigger living room 😂😂
Ten years. Where did they go.
And I'm just getting started.
