A similar thing happened to me in music. I wanted to live the rockstar dream, but I was too far in gusto for all-nighters and narcotics. I am a “rise up with the sun and take slow sips of your cup of unsweetened black coffee as you let your face be brushed by the cool morning breeze” kinda guy.

Still, that musical yearning hasn’t gone away. It’s a matter of discovering what exactly is it that you like within that realm. Exactly as you did by filtering it down to writing.
